In 1941, an Irish documentary filmmaker hears of a man named J.C. Sullivan, who may know the fate of the Hollandia, a Norwegian ship that sailed to Antarctica in 1905 and disappeared. Sullivan was the carpenter on that ill-fated voyage and is the last known surviving crewmember of the Hollandia. When interviewed, Sullivan presents the filmmaker with canisters of old film footage which back up his unbelievable tale.

Eight years ago, Cheyenne Indians attacked the Baudine Family wagon and captured Morgan, whom they renamed Two Persons. Now Two Persons, raised in the ways of the Indians, has been reunited with his brother Quentin, a doctor and a stranger to frontier ways. Together the brothers set out in search of their sister Patricia, who was also captured and who Two Persons believes is still alive.

Interestingly, the shooting location is a village called Balarampur, which is adjacent to Ray's shooting-location of Pather Panchali at Boral. We were really surprised to find that the real people of our shooting location were not much different than the reel-characters, created by the author about 70 years ago. A feud has been raging between the Lee and Mitchell families, in the forbidden valley of the Kentucky hills. The lone survivors are Ben Lee, his granddaughter Morning Glory and a young Mitchell boy who is given refuge by minister Dominie Jones. Fifteen years pass and Jack Winslow, a surveyor, comes to the valley and falls in love with Morning Glory. Their romance is opposed by Dave, a young half-wit who also loves Morning Glory and, out of jealousy, makes several attempts on Jack's life. When Jack is suspected of being the last surviving Mitchell, Morning Glory, acting in accordance with her family code of honor, shoots and wounds him. Soon after, Jones reappears and explains that Dave is the real Mitchell heir, thus clearing the path for Jack and Morning Glory's reconciliation.

The film depicts the incredible metamorphosis of a clerk whose sense of identity and pride are reawakened by an unexpected development.

When Red Hawk Dugan and his men attack a small wagon train, Colonel Merriwell is killed and the young girl Isobel taken and raised thinking Dugan is her father. Fifteen years later the Colonel's son Jack arrives looking for Dugan whom he learned killed his father.
